The information we collect

We collect information relating to you that you provide to us (or to service providers or partners working on our behalf) by many different means. For example, you may provide us with personal information by filling in an application form, entering information into, or otherwise interacting with, our website, apps, branch Wi-Fi service or other online platforms or services or through the way you transact with us.

• security information, such as passwords and usernames for the trade portal section of our website.
• information about what goods you purchase, how much you spend with Active Electrical Suppliers Limited and the branches that you purchase from; and
• on-line interaction information, such as how often you use our website, branch Wi-Fi service, apps or other online platforms or services, what pages on our website were visited or service components used and (in connection with our branch Wi Fi service only) the location at which you connected to the service and how much data was used.

We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, unauthorised activity, or other misuse. If you suspect any unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure of your personal information held by Active Electrical Suppliers Limited, please let us know immediately. 

Accessing and correcting your personal information

Subject to certain grounds for refusal set out in the Act, you have the right to access your readily retrievable personal information that we hold and to request a correction to your personal information. Before you exercise this right, we will need evidence to confirm that you are the individual to whom the personal information relates.

In respect of a request for correction, if we think the correction is reasonable and we are reasonably able to change the personal information, we will make the correction. If we do not make the correction, we will take reasonable steps to note on the personal information that you requested the correction.

While we take reasonable steps to maintain secure internet connections, if you provide us with personal information over the internet, the provision of that information is at your own risk.

Should you post your personal information on our website or social media platforms, you acknowledge and agree that the information you post is publicly available.

If you follow a link on our website to another site, the owner of that site will have its own privacy policy relating to your personal information. We suggest you review that site’s privacy policy before you provide personal information.

Cookies

We may use various technologies to collect and store information when you use this website, and this may include using cookies and similar tracking technologies, such as pixels and web beacons. These web beacons track certain behavior such as whether the email sent through the website was delivered and opened and whether links within the email were clicked. They also allow us to collect information such as the recipient’s:

• Tracking Website usage and traffic.
• Reports are available to Us when We send email to You, so We may collect and review that information.

These cookies do not read your hard drive but may be stored on your hard drive to enable our website to recognise you when you return to the same.
